Getting to Know the EFF Standard Cooperate With Others

The EFF Standard Cooperate With Others defines one of 16 content areas that make up the EFF Content Framework. Go to Standards for a complete list of the standards. The definition of the Cooperate With Others Standard is:

In order to fulfill responsibilities as parents/family members, citizens/community members and workers, adults need to be able to:

  • Interact with others in ways that are friendly, courteous, and tactful and that demonstrate respect for others' ideas, opinions, and contributions.
  • Seek input from others in order to understand their actions and reactions.
  • Offer clear input on own interests and attitudes so others can understand one's actions and reactions.
  • Try to adjust one's actions to take into account the needs of others and/or the task to be accomplished.

This definition was developed as part of an intensive multi-year research and development process that included input from teachers throughout the U.S. as well as content area specialists.
